East of England energy awards open

Entries are now open for awards celebrating the energy industry in the east of England.

“Game-changing” solutions to industry challenges, inspiring people and contributions to developing a skilled workforce across offshore and onshore energy technologies will be on show at the East of England Energy Group’s (EEEGR) annual gala End of Year Awards at Dunston Hall, near Norwich, on 5 December.

Businesses have two months to enter organisations, companies and individuals who stand out for their work across all energy sectors – in offshore wind, nuclear, oil and gas, geothermal, solar and ports.

Deadline for entries is 31 October.

This year, there are 10 award categories, including three new awards: Apprentice Employer of the Year, Positive Impact in the Community and STEM Educator.

Other categories are: Going Green, Innovation, One to Watch, Outstanding Contribution to Skills for Energy, Rising Star, Young Person of the Year and EEEGR Member of the Year. Sponsors have already signed up to sponsor categories, including OPITO for the STEM Educator Award.

EEEGR is also seeking sponsors for categories, which are open for entries from EEEGR members and non-members.

EEEGR chair Kevin Keable said: “The east of England energy sector is a beacon of brilliance across all sectors.

“The beauty of our awards is that they offer the chance to those businesses and people to be highlighted to their peers and colleagues and be publicly acknowledged for the tremendous work they do to push the industry forward and for going above and beyond to make change.”
