Join us as we tour the UK in June sharing our newly published Economy & People Report – an evolution of OEUK’s Economic Report.
The offshore energy sector has been an important part of the UK economy for over 50 years, driven by oil and gas activity. This year we are launching a new report, Economy & People, providing an integrated insight into the economic contribution and workforce profile of the offshore sector.
With the East of England being at the centre of plans for hydrogen, CCS, offshore wind and ongoing support for oil and gas production, this event will set out how the opportunity for the region and wider country can be achieved through action to improve its competitiveness for investment and ongoing development of its supply chain and skilled workforce.
This all comes at a time where policy makers from all sides are prioritising economic growth opportunities. The contribution from the offshore sector, relies on making the most of our oil and gas resources, alongside accelerating the development of our offshore wind CCS and hydrogen potential.
As the General Election approaches, you will also have a chance to hear about the offshore energy sector’s manifesto and the plans to shape the low carbon energy system of the future.
Chaired by Graham Elgie, Finance & Corporate Services Director, Offshore Energies UK, our speakers and panellists include:
- Paul Hubbard, Regional Director – Offshore Wind, Bilfinger UK Limited
- Kevin Keable, Chair, EEEGR
- Irene Bruce, Head of Energy Services Agreement (ESA), Employment & Skills, Offshore Energies UK
